CityBuzz News has learned that Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, has passed away.

The news, confirmed by sources within the palace, was first reported on Rave 91.7FM Radio in Osogbo on Thursday.

Oba Aromolaran died on Wednesday following a brief illness.

Although the palace has not yet issued an official statement, his death marks the end of a reign that spanned over 40 years.
