Hon Olayinka Segelu Grieves Over Demise Of Ex-PDP Deputy National Chairman, Adeojo

  A Chieftain of People Democratic Party (PDP) and Germany-based business tycoon, Aare Olayinka Segelu, has expressed grief over the death of Alhaji Yekini Ayoade Adeojo, a former Deputy National Chairman and one-time Chairman of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). Aare Segelu, an ICT consultant and governorship aspirant in the race for the 2027 election in Oyo State, extended heartfelt sympathy to family of the late elder statesman and renowned industrialist, the Oyo State government and the entire Yoruba Muslim community. The governorship hopeful described Adeojo as an astute politician who contributed in no small measure to the sustenance of democracy in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole. “I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Chief Alhaji Yekini Ayoade Adeojo, the Oyo State Government, and the entire Yoruba Muslim community on his passing. Chief Adeojo was not only a prominent figure in our community but also a close associate and trusted ally of my late father, a former member of House of Representatives and erstwhile Oyo PDP Chairman. He once confided in me that he would refrain from active politics due to the tragic circumstances surrounding my father’s gruesome assassination. “His life was a powerful testament to his unwavering commitment to serving the marginalized, even in the face of adversity. As a gubernatorial candidate for both the National Republican Convention (NRC) in 1991 and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 1998, he left an indelible mark on our state’s political landscape. He actively contributed to our Party and Nigeria, having served as the former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, a member of the board of trustees, and as the former Chairman of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) under President Olusegun Obasanjo. He was appointed in 2000. “May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant the Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland a place in Aljannah Firdaus and provide strength to his family, the Oyo State Government, and the entire Muslim community in Yorubaland during this difficult time. Ibadan Children’s Funfair Stampede: Hon Olayinka Segelu Sympathizes With Bereaved Families, Oyo Govt, Organizers

  The Chairman/CEO of YSEG Hotels and Suites Ibadan and Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Olayinka Oladimeji Segelu, has consoled with Oyo State Government, the state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, and the affected families of the Ibadan Children Funfair Stampede where children numbered 35 lost their lives. Hon Segelu, a PDP governorship aspirant for the 2027 election in Oyo State, described the incident as a sad and unfortunate one. Segelu in a statement issued on Friday, expressed his deep heartfelt sympathy to Oyo State Government, the State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, the organizers of the event; Agidigbo Radio owned by Oriyomi Hamzat, the Women in Need of Guidance and Support(WINGS) owned by a former queen at the Ooni’s Palace; Ms Naomi Silekunola Ogunseyi, and the bereaved families of the young souls lost in the tragic incident. Segelu in a copy of the message made available to Daily INDEPENDENT stated that, “I am deeply saddened after hearing about the stampede that occured at a children funfair held at Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan, the state capital of Oyo State, on Wednesday, resulting in the loss of numerous lives of minors and injuries to many others. “My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of the victims, and I offer my sincerest condolences during this difficult time. I also wish a speedy recovery to those injured. “May the affected families find strength and comfort during this tragic time. “The unfortunate incident has caused widespread shock, grief, and concern. I commend Oyo State Government for working closely with the relevant authorities in investigating the cause of the incident and for providing support to those affected. “However, for any public gathering (big or small) safety of attendees must be put first in plannings. I urge Oyo State Government and the security agencies to come up with guidelines and conditions that must be met by organisers of similar events in order to forestall future reoccurrences. “Once again, I offer my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims”. Segelu stated.

Hon Olayinka Segelu Commiserates With Oyo State NUJ Chairman Over Mother’s Demise

Adeleke Maria    The governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 general election in Oyo State, Hon Olayinka Segelu, has commiserated with the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Chapter, Alhaji Ademola Babalola, over the passage of his mother, Madam Wulemot Aweni Babalola. Madam Aweni Wulemot Babalola died at the age of 76 years on Saturday November 2, 2024 and was buried on Sunday November 3, 2024, according to Islamic rites. Hon Segelu, the Germany-based, Ibadan-born businessman, politician and ICT consultant, in a statement he issued, expressed sadness over the sudden departure of Madam Aweni Babalola. Segelu in a copy of the message made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State, extends heartfelt condolences to Comrade Ademola Babalola and other members of the family. The statement reads: “I extend my heartfelt condolences to Alhaji Ademola Babalola, Oyo NUJ Chiarman and other members of the family over the loss of their Matriarch Madam Wulemot Aweni Babalola, May God continue to be with the rest of the family and grant Mama Aljanna Firdous. “It is my prayer that God Almighty will grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable and painful loss. “Until her death, Mama was a devoted Muslim and respected Otun Iya Adeen of Palupo Muslim Community in Ona Ara Local Government area of Oyo State, and it is my belief that you’re a good testimony of the good legacies of Mama, and I pray that God will strengthen you to be able to sustain all these legacies she left behind. “Please accept my sincere condolences.” The deceased is survived by the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Hon Olayinka Segelu Losses Elder Brother, Oluwadamilare

  A Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Olayinka Segelu, has announced the death of his elder brother, Oluwadamilare Oladimeji. Olayinka, a Germany-based businessman and ICT consultant aspiring to occupy the governorship seat of Oyo State in 2027, in a statement said his late brother was a cherished and respected member of the family. The statement reads: “It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my elder brother, the firstborn of our beloved mother. He was a cherished member of our family and leaves behind a deep void in our hearts. “As one of three men and three women born to my mother, I now stand as the only surviving brother, with both of my siblings Oluwadamilare and Olukunle having left us to join our mother and father. “This loss is particularly heartbreaking, as I dedicated myself to caring for him through many years of illness, including a leg amputation done in the hope of making him live. “Despite my efforts, the challenges he faced became insurmountable. My heart is heavy with sorrow as I reflect on the bond we shared and the memories we created. ‘I am deeply saddened by his passing and will carry his spirit with me always. RIP Oluwadamilare D-Segelu Motors.”
