I’ll Die On a Sunday After Service, Pastor Adeboye Predicts Own Death

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has restated his vision of how he believes he will pass away, peacefully, on a Sunday, after attending church service and eating his favourite meal, pounded yam. Speaking on the fourth day of the church’s ongoing International Convention themed “The Overcomers”, Adeboye said death does not always come through prolonged illness and that his departure would be sudden and painless. “I will die on a Sunday after attending service, eat my beloved pounded yam, and then pass on without any sickness,” he declared. The cleric noted that he first shared this vision two years ago and was repeating it to reassure believers that death can be peaceful for those in Christ. Delivering a sermon titled “Possess Your Possessions”, Adeboye urged Christians to actively claim what is rightfully theirs in Christ, warning that spiritual blessings often have to be fought for. Drawing from the biblical story of the Israelites taking the Promised Land, he said: “In many cases, you may have to fight for things that are already yours.” He listed healing, prosperity, fruitfulness, and long life as areas where believers must resist spiritual opposition. “Your greatest friend, Jesus Christ, paid a great price to purchase your healing. Yet there is a thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy,” he said, citing John 10:10. “Long life is yours, but the devil wants to kill you with all he has. You must fight to live.” On prosperity, Adeboye declared: “The One who owns the earth and its fullness, and owns all the silver and gold, paid a terrible price so that you wouldn’t be poor. As long as you want to remain poor, you will remain poor.” He criticised the double standard faced by successful Christians: “If you make it as a Christian, they criticise you. If you die poor, they say, ‘Where’s your God?’” Referencing biblical figures like Rachel and Hannah, who overcame barrenness through persistent prayer, he urged believers to reject all forms of spiritual oppression. Concluding his message, Adeboye used the story of Jacob wrestling with an angel as a call to spiritual perseverance: “It is what we tolerate that disturbs us. Stop tolerating sickness, poverty, barrenness, or premature death. Fight to possess your possessions, it’s your spiritual duty, made possible by Christ’s sacrifice.”

Lege Miami Sparks Outrage For Calling Women With Phone Passwords Prostitutes

Actor and self-proclaimed relationship adviser, Adams Kehinde, popularly known as Lege Miami, has come under fire after saying that married women who use passwords on their phones are like “prostitutes” and should leave their homes. In a video he posted on his Instagram handle on Tuesday which went viral on Wednesday, Lege made it clear that he believes only men have the right to keep their phones private and even cheat on their partners. He insisted that women are not allowed to do the same. He said, “A woman who is married and uses a password on her phone is a prostitute. She should pack her load and leave the house. “Any housewife who has a password on her phone is a prostitute. If a married woman can put a password on her phone, she is a prostitute. “So, because your husband has his phone passworded, you too want to put yours as well? You are not ready for marriage. You can pack your load and leave the house. Quote me!” Lege also insisted that men are allowed to cheat but women are not. He stated, “As a relationship expert, I will say that you pack your load and leave the house. “Your husband can cheat, but as a woman, you don’t have the right to cheat. That’s how to be a good and responsible wife.” This, however, did not sit well with many social media critics, especially women who noted that Lage was biased and one-sided. An Instagram user, #theseunlawal insisted that whatever bands men to cheat also bands the women. #theseunlawal wrote, “Shut up, broad mi, it’s vice versa, don’t give what you can’t take. Who gave men the license to cheat? If you can cheat, then she can do the same. Relationship expert isonu…” Another user, #Oyedolamounique wrote, “Boda Lege, I disagree with you on this sir, my kids will make you frustrated if you no get password.” However, despite the backlash, some people took Lage’s statement as a joke. A user, #Bukkysuccessbeni stated, “Lege u no serious. Okay, na water dey run for women body? Dey play.” Another Instagram user, #menduza wrote, “Egbon ofo niyin ooo. ‘Real Family Doesn’t Manipulate,’ Peter Okoye Says After Testifying Against Brother In Court.

Nigerian music star Peter Okoye of the legendary duo, P-Square, has opened up about enduring over two decades of betrayal and manipulation, stating that he is now prioritising his mental health. In a post on his Instagram story on Tuesday, Peter wrote, “Don’t let ‘family’ be the reason you’re drowning in silence. I did – for over 20 years and it almost cost me everything. But now I know better – love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family doesn’t steal from you.” Peter added that any family that steals, discriminates or ignores one’s pain isn’t family. He added, “Family that steals and breaks you isn’t family at all. Real family doesn’t drain you, shame you, discriminate against you, or ignore your pain.   “My sanity matters. My mental health is a priority. If it costs my mental health, then it’s too expensive.” Peter’s post comes after he testified in a high-profile case before the Federal High Court in Lagos, where his older brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, stands accused of money laundering and the alleged diversion of royalties belonging to P-Square. Jude Okoye is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on a seven-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N1.38 bn, $1M, and £34,537.59, alongside his company, Northside Music Limited. PUNCH reports that Peter narrated at the court on Monday how his older brother, Jude, secretly registered a new company in his wife’s name and used it to divert royalties belonging to the defunct music group, P-Square. Testifying as the first prosecution witness, Peter revealed that Jude incorporated Northside Music Ltd, a name strikingly similar to their original company, Northside Entertainment Ltd, without informing him or his twin brother, Paul. “I found out Jude had incorporated another company, Northside Music Ltd similar to our original Northside Entertainment Ltd and he was using it to collect our royalties. “He and his wife are the only directors. She owns 80 per cent and he owns 20 per cent,” Peter testified. Peter added that he began discovering discrepancies in their financial dealings, particularly around royalty payments, after P-Square disbanded in 2017 and reunited in 2021. Following these discoveries, he contacted his lawyer, identified as Afolabi, who then petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The court adjourned the case to June 4 for cross-examination. The feud between the Okoye brothers reportedly dates back to 2015, when tensions within P-Square became public. In 2017, the duo officially began pursuing solo careers with fans remaining hopeful for a reunion, especially after they collaborated on Jaiye and Find Somebody in 2022 and performed together publicly. However, in August 2024, Paul confirmed their split during an interview with City FM radio where he alleged that Peter had petitioned both him and Jude to the EFCC, leading to their invitation for questioning. In response, Peter denied reporting Paul to the anti-graft agency but maintained that his petition was aimed at exposing the betrayal he suffered from Jude and his wife, Ifeoma. The case also stirred internal tensions within the Okoye family, when Peter’s twin brother, Paul, a.k.a. Rudeboy, publicly defended Jude and accused Peter of being the mastermind behind the legal troubles. Recall that in February, Paul stated that he would not abandon his elder brother as he stands on the side of truth. “The truth is, Peter is the one putting Jude through these things. It’s Peter who is doing these. I’m only standing for the truth because the same crime that they accused him of doing, then Peter is guilty, Paul is also guilty too,” Paul said.

Why I Rejected £24m Record Deal In 1995 – Panam Percy Paul

Popular gospel singer, Panam Percy Paul, has claimed that he turned down a highly lucrative record deal that could have changed his career in 1995. In a recent sit-down with a Nigerian Pastor, Emmanuel Iren, the singer recalled being offered a three-year contract worth £24 million, roughly equivalent to N7 billion at the time. The singer, however, states that the deal came with an ultimatum that directly conflicted with his Christian values. Recouting his experience, Paul revealed that the record label requested he limit the number of times he mentioned the name “Jesus” in his songs. The singer singer said the record label executive also suggested he use alternative terms like “Righteous One” or “Greatest Lover” in place of the sacred name. He said, “1995, I was at the peak of ministry, and success in the industry, I was offered 24 million pounds for a three year contract. 1995, 24 million pounds was equivalent to 7 billion naira. The catch was ‘can you reduce the number of times you call the name Jesus in your songs?’. And there is more where this came from. and one of them said to me, ‘you actually don’t need to mention the name Jesus. You can call him other names like Righteous one, Greatest Lover.’ I was shocked, so I told them, you can keep the money, while I keep the name”. “Today, the extreme is that music ministry has now become music industry. Where the industry now dictates to the ministers what to do, how to sing and when to sing. For example, it was the marketers in Alaba that encouraged the musicians to add tongues to their songs.”
