Oyo PDP Guber Aspirant, Aare Olayinka Segelu Hails Gbadamosi, Kangara For Grassroots Service In Birthday Message

Governorship hopeful and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Aare. Olayinka Segelu, has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to two outstanding grassroots leaders in Oyo State, former Lagelu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi, and the current Secretary and Sole Administrator of Akinyele Local Government and Akinyele East LCDA, Hon. Kazeem Hamed Adekunle, popularly known as Kangara. In a goodwill message personally signed and released on Sunday, Aare Segelu described the two celebrants as “pillars of grassroots governance” whose commitment to people-centered leadership and total loyalty to the PDP have continued to inspire confidence and progress across their respective constituencies. “On this special occasion,” the statement reads, “I join the good people of Lagelu and Akinyele to celebrate two men of vision, loyalty, and uncommon dedication, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi and Hon. Kazeem Hamed Adekunle (Kangara). Your birthdays offer us all an opportunity to reflect on the impact of your leadership, your consistency in party affairs, and your deep commitment to the development of our dear state.” Germany-based business tycoon also added: “To Hon. Gbadamosi, your years as Chairman of Lagelu Local Government remain a benchmark in grassroots administration. You governed with clarity, inclusiveness, and a deep sense of duty. Your name continues to command respect in Lagelu and beyond.” “To Hon. Kangara, your administrative strength and political dexterity, especially in steering Akinyele Local Government and Akinyele East LCDA at critical times, speak volumes about your competence and grassroots appeal. You have shown true capacity as a party man, a loyal public servant, and a leader of the people.” “As you both celebrate this new chapter, I pray for long life, good health, and continued relevance in the political journey ahead. May you be continually strengthened to serve, to lead, and to make even more meaningful impact in the lives of your people and the PDP family in Oyo State.” “Happy birthday once again to two of our party’s finest. The future remains bright with dedicated leaders like you in the fold.”

Makinde Is A Promise Keeper – Ex-APC Guber Aspirant, Niyi Akintola

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Chief Niyi Akintola, has described Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as a man of integrity, calling him a “promise keeper” who has consistently earned the trust of the people. Speaking during an interview on The People’s Verdict, Chief Akintola, the Asiwaju of Idoland, praised the governor’s humility, brilliance, and developmental strides across the state. “Governor Makinde embodies everything called Omoluabi. He is humble, calculating, brilliant, unassuming and a go-getter,” he said. “When we adopted him, I took him to my local government and told him plainly what we expected and what we wouldn’t accept. He has never betrayed us.” Akintola recalled that he had predicted an overwhelming victory for Makinde in Ido Local Government in a past election — a prediction that came to pass. “What he got from Ido was more than what he got from four local governments put together,” he said. Fulfilled Promises and Developmental Impact Despite being an APC chieftain, Akintola noted that Makinde responded to the calls for infrastructure development from opposition quarters, particularly in Ido LGA. “We demanded construction of our road from Omi to Ido, which had been left unattended since 1992. Governor Makinde not only fixed that, but also completed the Owode Housing Estate to Akala Way to Toll Gate stretch. The Apete-Akufo road is also done, and construction from Akufo to Alabata in Akinyele is ongoing,” he stated. He recounted an instance while driving with the governor when Makinde saw roadside traders in Omi Adio and spontaneously promised a modern market — a promise which he said is now 99% completed. Akintola also revealed that although Ido was initially excluded from the Ibadan Circular Road project, the governor found a way to connect the area to the larger network. Widespread Praise and Recognition Sharing a testimony from a visiting Nigerian engineer based in Houston, USA, Akintola said the guest was astonished at the road developments across Ibadan. “He asked, ‘Where did you get this kind of governor? Can’t you lend him to us for a few months?’ I told him our constitution doesn’t allow that,” Akintola said humorously. He also credited Makinde with unlocking the long-delayed World Bank-backed Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project by promptly paying the state’s counterpart funding — enabling extensive dredging, bank reinforcement, and bridge reconstruction to tackle flooding in the city. Security and Other Achievements Highlighting security as another major achievement, Chief Akintola said: “Every three kilometers on the Old Oyo Road, you’ll find Amotekun Corps, Operation Burst, and police personnel with government-supplied vehicles. That’s a big change. I used to personally support the police, but the government has now taken full responsibility.” Citing the Moniya-Iseyin Road, Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso Road, and internal road networks in Ibadan, he lauded the governor’s focus on infrastructure and rated him highly. “If I were to score Governor Makinde, I would give him 85 per cent,” he said. “Our prayer is that he finishes strong, and that God grants Oyo State another prepared leader like him.”

Oyo Guber Aspirant Mourns Loss Of Hon. Olatunji Suleiman Akande

Chief Olayinka Segelu Oladimeji, a gubernatorial aspirant under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Olatunji Suleiman Akande, known as Lexyman Smally, as well as to the Oluyole Local Government and the Oyo State PDP. Segelu, Germany-based entrepreneur and ICT pundit, in a statement, expressed sorrow over the passing of Hon. Akande, highlighting his contributions as a strong voice in the Oluyole Local Government. According to him, the sad news came after a conversation he had with Asiwaju Oluyole, Hon. Akeem Olatunji last night, who was in Saudi Arabia at the time, grieving the loss of his dear aide. “Unbeknown to me, he was mourning, and it was a shocking revelation,” Segelu added. Asiwaju Segelu shared in the collective sorrow of the community as they mourn the sudden passing of Lexyman Smally. He called for prayers for the deceased, stating, “May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.” The community will continually remember Hon. Akande for his dedication and service to humanity, and his legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire many within the Oluyole Local Government and beyond.
