First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has donated ₦5 million to beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Agricultural Support Programme in Anambra State to help strengthen their businesses.
The First Lady presented the financial support through the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, who handed the money to the beneficiaries at the Light House in Awka.
Soludo disclosed the development in a statement issued by her media aide, Daniel Ezeigwe, on Monday.
According to her, Tinubu approved the donation after beneficiaries of last year’s RHI Agricultural Support Programme warmly received her during her visit to Anambra State last Thursday.
The beneficiaries had also presented a token of support for President Bola Tinubu and his administration ahead of the 2027 general election.
The statement said the First Lady described the gesture as unprecedented and decided to reciprocate by providing the beneficiaries with ₦5 million to further support their businesses.
Soludo said:
“Following the warm reception she received from beneficiaries of last year’s ‘Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural Support Programme’ during her visit to Anambra State, the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has gifted them ₦5 million to further support and strengthen their businesses.
“The beneficiaries had, during her official visit to Anambra last Thursday, presented a token of support for the President and his administration ahead of 2027.”
RHI Targets Food Security and Vulnerable Households
The Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural Support Programme seeks to support vulnerable households and improve access to nutritious food, particularly for nursing mothers and people facing food insecurity.
Soludo described the donation as another reminder of the importance of kindness and appreciation.
She also expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the financial support and her continued commitment to supporting beneficiaries of the agricultural programme.
