BREAKING: Unsettlement Erupts In Abuja After Tremor Strikes

Residents of Mpape in Abuja’s Bwari Area Council have been alarmed by ongoing tremors and vibrations affecting parts of the city over the past five days.

Dr. Ebenezer Adebisi, Chairman of the Mpape Hills Landlord Association and a retired Corps Commander, reported that these disturbances have become notably frequent and intense recently, unlike previous isolated incidents.

Adebisi observed that the recent vibrations surpass the usual disturbances caused by rock blasting from nearby quarries.

He highlighted that the tremors were particularly severe on Sunday and Monday nights. Concerned for their safety, he called for an official response from the Nigerian government and the Nigerian Geological Agency, urging them to address the situation and advise the residents accordingly.

Residents from nearby areas, including Gwarinpa and Katampe, have also reported similar issues. An anonymous source from the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency suggested that if the tremors persist, residents might need to consider temporary relocation. The official advised that residents keep detailed records of the vibrations to aid in assessing the situation.

Efforts are ongoing to monitor the situation closely and ensure the safety of those affected.
